few days ago I began a discussion in the best sense of the word on the issue of self of peoples with a friend, at times the discussion became tense, but never neglecting respect. This makes it very briefly write what I think about it.
The self of peoples, in theory, is the right of peoples to decide their own form of government, pursue their economic, social and cultural and structured freely, without external interference and in accordance with the principle of equality . Until then all well and good, however, there is something in what I share with President Chávez , although those who know me know that I am opposing, is that all freedom is limited, although it sounds paradoxical but true.
Enough to make us look the other way and hide behind the trap of rhetoric, I can not accept nor understand that using this "freedom" that gives determination of peoples, in some countries governments are seeking to establish legitimate source, but that action be stop. I would like to list a number of situations in which audeterminación , ill-conceived and understood has made matters worse:
1 - Case of Honduras: It is inconceivable that overthrew a legitimate government, but he can not consider a government that has been cash, for the simple fact of a sector, majority or not, it considers illegitimate. Electoral and legal avenues is the answer to these situations. As I was saying, it's amazing that OAS and UN can only "try" to resolve the situation, but seeing no way out and cooperation from the rebels, the only thing I can do is to apply sanctions country, in the end the suffering citizens. So What the hell these agencies serve , they should have the authority or power to completely resolve these situations?, ah but no, you can not! because the sovereignty and self bind us.
2 - Human Rights Commission: It turns out that for a human rights commission to enter a country, it must be approved by the government, what about cu 'm under investigation for violations of human rights is the government itself?, when it has been accused even asked for permission to investigate and if it does not give you can not do anything?, again the holy sovereignty and self misunderstood.
3 - Forms of government: It turns out that as each country decides how it is governed, or at least we do believe , agencies can not do anything more than apply sanctions, applies when a government counter measures the right, or when established forms of government and failed as capitalism, socialism, communism and all the "isms " of aberrant human mind. Again, sovereignty, self , Those sanctions have only the citizens and found on the government continue to run without change, as in Cuba, Myanmar, China, Laos , etc. So what is the achievement? I do not see it.
